Indian Government Bans The Import of Mobile Phones With Duplicate IMEI Numbers

The Indian government has banned the Import of Mobile Phones With Duplicate IMEI Numbers, The Reason Being is improving security and assisting tracking callers using different SIM cards. An IMEI Number Comprises of 15 Digits Unique Identification For Mobile Phones and appears on the operator’s network whenever a call is made. 

Director General of Foreign Trade:

GSM mobile handsets with duplicate IMEI or fake IMEI & 'CDMA mobile handsets' with duplicate ESN (Electronic Serial Number)/MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifier) or fake ESN/MEID are added to the list of 'Prohibited' items for import," 

Indian Cellular Association National President Pankaj Mohindroo:

We welcome any crackdown in fake IMEI or grey market. The implementation of this notification on gorund will have to be handled with great care so that ease of business is not hampered while curbing grey market,”

The Initiative Aimed at Checking For Cloned or Duplicate IMEI Number. Which are Dangerous and also Considered as National Threat to The Country.

As per New leaks, Motorola Might Be Working on Two New Devices. The Detailed Specifications of The New Devices are Being Leaked Online By United Kingdom Retailer ARGOS. The Devices are Called Moto G Titan and Moto E Styx Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Moto G Titan is 4G LTE version of the Moto G (2014). Sports a screen size of 5”,HD Display With 1280*720p Resolution. Also has 8GB Internal Memory and 1GB Ram. The Device is powered By Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core Processor and an 8MP camera. Finally, the price listed for the SIM-free model £159.95, which is slightly more than what Moto G (2014) currently costs.

The other leaked phone is Moto E Styx and it is to the Moto E. That is to say it adds 4G LTE connectivity, while maintaining the same size and likely design.The Processor Jumped From Dual Core to Quad Core From original Moto E. Moto E Styx is listed as costing £109.95, or about £10 more than the Moto E. We are yet to see actual photos of the two new smartphones, but given the identical dimensions they will probably look just like the current Moto E and Moto G.
