Everything You Need To Know About Yu Yuphoria (Q&A, Features)

For its first installment Yu, A subsidiary brand of Micromax has launched Yureka Though there are many things to complain about the device thanks to CyanogemMod people were in a rush to buy the smartphone. Now the company has come up with Yuphoria, A device that is not an upgrade to the Yureka but not a disappointment at the same time. During launch the companies Ceo, Rahul Sharma was mainly focusing on the design and build, well what do we think about it? Not bad at all, but at the same time the design can't be called as a complete rip off Lumia 830 but on first glance we feel that way. There quite a few things you got to know before you decide to go with it, Don't worry we are here to explain the things that we feel you should know.

Saturn Rings: One of the many things company was raving about is the Saturn rings. The camera on Yuphoria is 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, The camera is located exactly in the center of a back panel. The Saturn rings around the rear camera sure reminds us about the Lumia 830(as mentioned above) though it is look alike, it makes sense and a point. Saturn rings helpes the device in capturing an image in a better way. Saturn rings will be used in all Yu branded smartphones from now on. On the front, there is 5-megapixel fixed focus selfie camera that can record videos in 720p. The camera performance is decent and is capable of capturing excellent images given ample amount of light and environment. while the front camera does justice for what the company claims.

Metal Construction: Though the company says that Yuphoria is made of Metal, but that isn't compltely true. The rims of the smartphone are made of metal while the rest is all plastic; Even the Saturn rings at the back are made of plastic. The back panel is removable giving access to SD card and SIM card slots and a removable 2,230mAh battery with backup upto 5-7 hours of continuous usage. On the front there no touch type capacitive buttons they are inbuilt on the screen. Light and proximity Censors and 5MP selfie camera. On the sides three phase buttons(company calls) two volume buttons and power on/off button in the middle that are made of metal.

Processor: The Yu Yuphoria is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Soc clocked at 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor with Adreno 306GPU. Coupled with 2GB of Ram and 16GB internal storage, though we have many other competitors with same Soc in market like the A6000, Redmi 2 but the reason for Yuphoria having an edge over those is simply the extra 1gig of Ram. For 6,999, we are getting more than what we are paying. Keeping aside the price, the device can run pretty much anything we throw at it flawlessly. Another key highlight is the Cyanogen powered operating system, CM 12 based on Android 5.0.2 lollipop.  Performance wise the device has nothing to worry.

The Heating: Unlike the Yu yureka that is powered by Qualcomm 615that is known for overheating. The yuphoria doesn't heat that easy unless you are running heavy graphical intense games. Thanks to the SD 410 the device supports 64Bit architecture which will have a prominent role in the future.

Better Display: Smartphone above 5.5-inches should feature a 720p screen if used the display looks pixilated and doesn't look sharp. Thanks to the 5-inches display the 720p display on yuphoria looks sharp and color contrast is accurate. When compared with Yureka the display on Yuphoria is definitely on the upper side.

So here you go these were some of the things you need to know before you go with Yuphoria.

Apple iPhone 6s Could be Launched in August

Apple has a tradition of launching their smartphones in September every year. However, Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities issued a new research note on Tuesday of which a copy was given to AppleInsider, the copy reveals most of the changes that were planned to bring to the nest iteration of Apple device/devices. Apple has first introduced the Gold Edition with iPhone 5s in 2013, however that not actual gold but with iPhone 6s, which is planned to launch in Rose Gold edition but the price was not mentioned just yet.

The iPhone 6s to feature new design construction and casing materials, we can expect to fix the bending issues that raised a serious question about the companies manufacturing. the device could sports 5.5 inch Retina display and could feature new scratch-resistant Saffire protection. The camera is also jumped from 8-megapixel to 12-megapixel along with an extra microphone for better sound clarity. As we all know that 6s would pack Force-Touch option that Apple believes would be the best selling point.

We will see an upgrade in the processor with all new A9 chipset that is coupled with 2GB of Ram, and 6s will also be the first Apple iPhone to feature 2gigs of ram. Not to forget, there will no 4-inch model that mean we will be left with 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches. The new TouchID sensor would bring better Apple pay experience with faster yet secured method.

Asus Zenfone 2(4GB RAM) Hands-On; Initial Impressions

After so much anticipation and hype, Asus had finally launched the Zenfone 2 Smartphone in India last month. Zenfone 2 is the world's first 4GB Ram smartphone Although there many other 4GB Ram smartphone launches since then Zenfone 2 is first among them. The device is supposed to be next iteration of last year's Zenfone series. Competing with some major names that fall under the same price segment the Asus zenfone 2 offers some best in class hardware and software features. Finally, we got to spend some time with the Zenfone 2 and here're our initial impression and thoughts

Asus has very much emphasized the design of the smartphone is focusing on the build quality, Zenfone 2 has also bagged the best design award for the year 2015. Well, we think that the zenfone 2 build quality is decent, with a lot of design changes made. Starting off with the volume rockers that are now shifter to back to the device under the primary camera taking a cue from LG's G2/G3, not that we are complaining but it's something worth mentioning. The power on/off button is also being transferred from side to top of the device that is accompanied with 3.5mm audio jack, Asus might have left the power button on the side reaching out to the upper part of the device becomes difficult at times. Back is mad up of plastic though it gives the impression of metal with its silver coating.

The device is a slightly curved on the back giving a right amount of grip to hold in hands without any problem. Unlike the last years Zenfone series that had sharp edges, the new Zenfone 2 has rounded edges making it comfortable while using it. The problem comes once you place the device on an even surface. The device weighs around 170 g with 152.5 x 77.2 x 10.9 mm dimensions.

Talking about the build, On the front we have the Asus branding, the usual set of proximity/ambient light sensors, the 5-megapixel selfie camera that can record/capture at 720p resolution. Tiny LED notification light, and three touch type capacitive buttons that do give haptic feedback when press but are not backlit making it difficult in dark and night times.  On the back, we have the 13-megapixel primary camera with Dual LED flash and OIS, Volume rocker. These buttons are made of plastic and offer a good amount of feedback when pressed, although you might want to get used to them. Finally, the rectangle shaped speaker grills for better audio output. The back is removable, but the 3000mAh battery isn't, Dual SIM slots of which the primary SIM supports 4G LTE and a MicroSD card slot that supports up to 64GB. There is nothing towards the sides(right & left) of the device as the volume and power buttons are being shifted their placement.

The Asus Zenfone 2 packs a 5.5-inches 1080p display with 403PPi. The 1080p panel is pretty much decent and it sufficient. The white balance is accurate, and the viewing angles are at its best. Sunlight legibility is not that high so are the brightness levels. Corning Gorilla glass 3 protects the display from scratches and sudden drops.  What strikes us the most is the slim bezels giving more screen to display ratio.

On the Internals, we have the Intel Atom Z3560 Chipset, which is clocked at 2.3GHz Quad-Core processor with PowerVR G6430 GPU, coupled with 4GB Ram of Ram and 32/64/128GB internal storage with SD card expansion. Performance is the area where the Zenfone 2 will impress more than it does than the hardware. Running on Android 5.0.2 lollipop with Zen U.I on top giving most of the lollipop sweetness. But the complaining part would be lot of bloatware other than the usual Google apps that come pre-installed with the device, though storage isn't an issue, but it would have been good if Asus has limited the unwanted app. Performance is snappy with no hint of lag or hangs what so ever and can run pretty much anything you throw at it. 3000mAh battery can get you through for a single of moderate to light usage, but you might need to charge it twice if your heavy smartphone user as the Intel chips are always blamed for Avg battery life.

Having said that when we compare with last year's zenfone series, the all new zenfone 2 gets a significant design upgrade. The specifications are on par with flagship device, well at least on paper as of now. Priced at 19,999 for 32GB variant and 23,000 for 64GB variant is worth spending your money on the device? well that the big question in front of us. We are still testing out the device and will come up with Full In-depth Camera and Full review very soon so stay tuned with us.

OnePlus Two Gets Benchmark Scores

OnePlus two is a long awaited smartphone, most of the fans are eagerly waiting for the next iteration of OnePlus. According to recent reports, OnePlus is due for second quarter of this year. For those who couldn't wait that long here is a glimpse of OnePlus two, the device might have apparently benchmarked in Geekbench application. Though the name of the device in the screenshot says OnePlus One the model number is different i.e. A2001 and also the Soc is different, as we all know that OnePlus one is powered by Snapdragon 801, but the benchmarked device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, furthermore the device is clocked at 1.5GHz 8-Cores Cpu i.e Octa-Core processor with 3GB of Ram which may be a disappointing news for the people who were expecting whopping 4GB Ram on board and it will run on Android 5.1 which is quite obvious. if this is really the OnePlus two then the device must be in its final stages of development and we might see company teasing the device very soon.
