Qualcomm's Quick Charging 3.0 Announced and It's 4X Faster Than Normal Charging

Qualcomm has announced the Quick Charging 3.0 which is said to be 38% power efficient than Quick charging 2.0 and is twice faster than QC 1.0 and 4X times faster than normal convention charging. Quick charging 3.0 is 100% backward compatible with QC 1.0 and 2.0 with a wide range of connectors. Qualcomm says you will get 80% of charge with just 35 minutes of charging.

Quick charging 3.0 can be used on USB Type-A, USB micro, USB Type-C or proprietary connectors and Accessories Like wall chargers, car chargers, battery packs, etc will support Quick charging 3.0. It uses Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV), an algorithm which basically allows your portable device to determine the power level to request at any point in time, which in turn improves the optimum power transfer while maximizing efficiency and its supports wider voltage options which lets the device to dynamically adjust the ideal voltage supported by specific device. Quick Charge 3.0 ships with Snapdragon 820, 620, 618,617 and 430 chipsets but the devices that are already launched with same Chipset will not support Quick charging 3.0 as it comes by default with the devices that are launching in 2016.

Qualcomm Designing Deca-Core Snapdragon 818 Soc?

Recent reports have been suggesting that Qualcomm is preparing Deca-Core processor with ten core CPU. Similar to one we have seen on MediaTek Deca-Core Helio X20 series processor. Reports from SJTS gadgets says that Snapdragon 818 Soc will be Deca core chipset with four relatively low powered 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 cores, four high-power 2.0GHz Cortex-A72 cores, and 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 cores. Do note that these are just rumors and are still in the development phase, so the actual Chipset/specifications might vary during the official launch.

MediaTek has announced that the Deca-Core Soc mass production start this summer. The specification of the MediaTek Deca-Core chipset includes four cores of 1.4GHz Cortex-A53, four cores of 2.0GHz Cortex-A57 and two cores of 2.5GHz Cortex-A72.  ARM Mali-T880 MP4 GPU incorporates the Graphical processing, the GPU can encode/ decode H.265 4K/ 2K video at 30fps.
