Gionee will Start Manufacturing Smartphones in India in Association with Foxconn and Dixon; Invents $50 Million

Gionee has announced that it will start manufacturing smartphones in India in association with Foxconn and Dixon as per the report from Economic Times. The company will be investing $50 million dollars over the next years for the manufacturing plants. Assembling of the smartphones is expected to kick-start from October second week, Foxconn will be manufacturing the F and P series current series line up while the Dixon will manufacture feature phones and entry level smartphones. The manufacturing plant will have capacity of over 1.2 Million units per month. 

Gionee is also planning to invest in R&D team in India which will work in improving their android U.I Amigo. Foxconn will set up its plant in Sri City while Dixon will set up in Noida. Apart from Gionee, HTC, Sony, LG, Microsoft, Celkon and Karbonn are also in plans to setup the Manufacturing plants in india very soon. Xiaomi has already started the Plant in Siri city Andhra pradesh and launched the "Redmi 2 prime".

Gionee has announced the S5.1 pro smartphone in China under the S-series smartphones. The Device sports 5-inches HD(1280*720) AMOLED display with 2.5D glass and also has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Powered by MediaTek MT6753Soc clocked at 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor with Mali T720-GPU coupled with 2GB of Ram and 16GB internal storage with an SD card slot for memory expansion. Runs on Android 5.1 out of the box with Company's custom U.I overlayed on top. 

On the camera side, the device packs a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity features include 4G LTE/3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG. Though the device has an SD card slot but the second SIM slot can either be used for memory expansion or as a secondary SIM slot. For now we do not have details like price and availability but stay tuned with us.

Gionee Marathon M5 and Gionee E8 Announced Officially

Gionee has finally announced the Marathon M5 and E8 Smartphones. The company couldn't keep the smartphones a secret for a long time as the Chinese certification Site TEENA has openly posted the details and thanks to many other numerous leaks the specifications are no surprise now. The E8 smartphone that is already out earlier today launched in the name of Allview X2 Xtreme, a Russian sub-brand of Gionee. The device sports 6-inches QHD display, and we are yet to confirm the display protection is overlayed or not. Under the hood, it is MediaTek Helio X10 chipset clocked at 2GHz Octa-Core 64bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, coupled by 3GB of Ram and has 64GB of internal storage that also has an SD card slot supports up to 128GB. On the camera side, there is 24-megapixel autofocus primary camera and the front features an 8-megpixel selfie shooter. The rear camera can record videos in 4K resolution, and the key highlight of the device is its rear camera that has interpolation technology that helps the picture clear and resembles a 120MP photo. A 3,500mAh battery powers the device and runs on Android 5.0 lollipop. The Elife E8 smartphone has a fingerprint sensor on the back for better security enhancements. Being a flagship device the Elife E8 smartphone is impressive specs wise but before coming to a conclusion lets wait for the Review(soon). Priced at 3999 Chinese Yuan ( US$ 644 / Rs. 41118 approx.) and will go on sale in China starting from July 15th. The smartphone is expected to launch in India in August.

Powered by MediaTek MT6735 chipset clocked in at 1.5GHz Quad-Core 64bit processor with Mali T760 GPU coupled with 2GB DDR3 Ram and has 16GB of internal storage with an SD card slot, Runs on Android 5.1 lollipop with Amigo U.I 3.0. The cameras feature a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 1080p Recording, the front features a 5-megapixel fixed focus selfie shooter. The device supports 4G on both the SIM slot as the device comes with Dual SIM slots. WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB port etc serve as connectivity features. The highlight of the smartphone has to be the Dual 3,010mAh battery units making a total of 6,020mAh, the company says the device can stand by up to 62 hours even when the device is left with 5% of battery. Priced at 2299 Chinese Yuan ( US$ 370 / Rs. 23656 approx.). It will go on sale in China starting from June 25th.

Gionee E8/S8 Showcased in New TEENA Video

Any Smartphone that is going to launch in China has to go for testing; TEENA is an agency that certifies smartphones, and it is equivalent to USA's FCC agency. A month before Gionee E8 has undergone TEENA certification and brought some interesting details and specifications on board. The key highlight of the smartphone is the 23-megapixel primary camera that allows to produce images equivalent to 100-megapixel photographs.  Naughty TEENA always posts the images of the smartphones that has visited for certification by Gionee E8 goes beyond that.

The showcased video shows the device look and dimensions. The device weights around 213 grams and for a device with dual battery setup the device is quite slim(8.5MM)Gionee has yet to announce most of the details like launch and price of the device.
