Though we have seen many high-end smartphones from ZTE but we haven't seen any flagship smartphone from the company. The Chinese brand might have been noticed this and apparently preparing for flagship ZTE series smartphone that might be released later this year. The newly rendered images showcase the new design language that looks similar to iPhone 6 form factor as you can see from the images attached below. The flagship smartphone from ZTE don't have a name yet, but the device is completely made out of metal and feature Dual LED flash at the rear. The camera area is made of plastic and placed right where the iPhone 6 has its camera module.
The front of the device features a 2.5D glass just like we have seen on recent oppo smartphone R7 and R7 smartphones that have the same 2.5D glass technology. Thanks to that the display has very slim bezels making the display to screen ratio bigger, back houses the companies brand logo and rear camera. While the front, we have the selfie camera that should be an 8-megapixel camera, and it doesn't have any capacitive touch type buttons that mean the buttons are merged within the display. Unfortunately, we don't have any other specifications at the moment but they tend to show up in the future.
Back in March Xiaomi and Microsoft joined hands for testing out the windows 10 for the compatible mi4 smartphones. but lately we haven't heard any update about the project, xiaomi is also not actively participating in the venture, but it looks like the Chinese manufacturer is very keen in providing the Rom for Mi4 smartphone users. Microsoft is working closely with the users to provide the Rom, the company took quite some time to provide a free bugless experience for the users and looks like the development of the Rom will be wrapped up very soon and the Rom will be made available on June 1st, 2015. Any Mi4 smartphone user can try the ROM and send the feedback to the company. But we are not sure how would this boost the Microsoft's operating system popularity but it is a good move and welcome initiative. We have been hearing that the company might release such ROM's for ZTE Nubia Z9 Smartphone and many others in the near future. Google Photos: As we all expected Google has unveiled the standalone photos application that was leaked a couple of days back. So the Google photos replace the older version of the photos app and it will store 16-megapixel pictures and full HD 1080 videos at the same time that app can also store the compressed picture that can be used to print them easily. The photos app will organize the pictures by people, places, album. Users don't need to tag or label them, the best part of the photos app is that it can store unlimited number of photos and videos that means you don't need to pay anything to store your media files unlike some other paid storage services like DropBox for instance. Google Photos is available to download for Android and IOS platforms.
Now On Tap: Google is making it's Google now functionality much smarter than before. Now On Tap functionality shows you the contextual information in just a click, at times it becomes difficult to access certain information while you are in the middle of a task this is where Now on Tap comes in. For example consider the image below where you were invited to lunch by your friend and if you tap hold the home key for couple of seconds the Google now brings up the card listing all the details and the link that are relevant to the place. The information contains the details like location(Maps), Contact Number, may be reserve a table, etc. For another example is when you are listening to a song and want to know the details regarding the singer and album. You have to say Ok Google simply and ask for the singer name even without mentioning the band/album name. Google will identify the details on its own and answers your question-saving lot of our time. Project Brillo: Google has made the project Brillo (internet of things) official. Brillo is derived from Android since it is polished version the name Brillo. It supports devices suck as door locks and more with minimal footprints. Brillo supports WiFi, Bluetooth LE. Huawei is in a the verge of bringing few low-end affordable smartphones that will join Honor series. Though the smartphones names aren't known as of now but the specifications are leaked via Teena certification, and the serial number of the device is SCL-AL00. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon clocked at 1.09Ghz Quad-Core processor with Cortex A7 CPU, coupled with 2GB of Ram and probably with 8/16GB of internal storage. The device will run on Android 5.0 lollipop with Huawei's own made Emotion U.I on top. The listing says that the device should come with plastic, but the frame seems to feature a gold color that is made of good quality plastic. Motorola has always used a 1080p panel for its smartphones while other companies are racing ahead with QHD display, so now the company is now finally going to introduce two flagship smartphones with QHD display and to be powered by Qualcomm based chipsets. The smartphones are being tested in USA by Verizon, the devices are code named as Clark and Kinizie. Right now, no details regarding the launch and price are known but we expect them to pass by in the coming days.
The device that is code-named as Clark sports a 5.25-inches QHD display(1440x2560 pixels) giving a pixel density of 560PPi, The device is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Chipset which we have already seen on LG G4 with HEXA-CORE processor. The device runs on Android 5.0 lollipop with Sense 7 U.I, 13-megapixel autofocus primary camera with LED flash and 13-megapixel front-facing but few of the earlier leaks suggest a 5-megapixel front camera. The device supports 4G LTE and has dual sim slots, and is 7.49mm thick. Although there isn't any official date for the launch yet but can expect the company start teasing the device very soon.
Gionee M5 a smartphone with 6000mAh and dual battery setup confirmed. The device is being confirmed via Teena listing, as mentioned the device comes with unique dual battery setup. Keeping aside the battery setup, rest of the specifications include, The device sports 5.5-inches Super AMOLED display that is 720p resolution and is powered by 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor coupled with 2GB of Ram and 16GB internal storage probably with an SD card slot. The rear camera features an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash while the front camera is 5-megapixel. The device will run on Android 5.0 lollipop.
The company claims that the smartphone will give 4-days of battery backup, this makes sense gives the fact the device features just a 720p display and less number of pixels to power. Gionee M5 is the world's second smartphone to feature 6,000mAh battery the first one was Innos D6000, which created a lot of buzz when it was launched. OnePlus has officially posted a teaser about the event that is scheduled on June 1st, 2015. The teaser stated that company has an announcement for us on June 1st, the teaser says "it’s “always looking for ways to shake up the tech industry”, and that it thinks “it’s time for a change". No other details were posted regarding the announcement as of now. Is the company going to make the long awaited OnePlus Two? Microsoft has finally made Cortana official for Android and IOS platforms. There were numerous rumors about the same in the past but today the company has made it official. Asus has done it again. The company has yet again delayed the lollipop update for Zenfone 5 series by 3-4 months this time. The previous news was that Asus has to roll out the update in Mid-May but, seeing the current situation tit's highly unlikely to happen. Asus India on facebook page has made a comment in the same regard and made it clear for the final time. The Reason for the delay being the Indian local carriers has to sign off the update. Given the situation the update might be delayed for Asus Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 6 as well. This news might leave the Zenfone 5 Users Disappointed and unhappy.

Last week there were reports that say that Google is working on new standalone photo sharing and storage app that Google is going to be launched during I/O conference going to be held this month end. The screenshots leaked by Android Police gives us a good look at the app. Once you start the app, it greets with smooth pinwheel animation, followed by the small tutorial of course. The photo app allows the users to search of people/animals/places and asks you to backup the photos to G-Drive(if required) and takes care of the photos management. Users will be able to drag around to select multiple images.
The customization becomes attractive where users get access various "Views". Users can view their photos by Day/Month and "comfortable view" which tiles photos by day in a staggered grid. The app includes easier navigation including pinch in and swipes away. The "Auto Awesome" feature which we have now is being replaced by "Assistant Feature" which besides creating stories and animations- also allows users to create albums, movies, animations, collages. The image editing interface, filters & usual tools are still there, but the image cropping gets various aspect ratios. The images and videos stored gets better privacy controls.
