Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Unboxing; Initial Impressions

Asus launched the Zenfone 2 deluxe smartphone last week at Zenfone festival in Delhi. We were at the event, and we have already posted the hands-on of Zenfone selfie. Today we have got the zenfone 2 Deluxe the premium model among all the new launches, so here we are with unboxing and initial impressions of the smartphone. 


Box contents of the Zenfone 2 deluxe: 1-smartphone; USB cable; power adapter and user manuals. Once you open the box pack, you are welcomed by the smartphone itself sporting a huge 5.5-inches FHD(1980*1080p) display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Next will be the regular USB cable, USB wall adapter with Asus branding and the AC adapter gives the output of 5V=2A current. Next up will be the user manual guides and warranty information. Now this being a review unit we didn't have the earphones in it but a retail unit might have the earphones bundled. 


Upfront, as said above a huge 5.5-inches FHD display with three touch type capacitive buttons for back, home and recent apps, do note these buttons are not backlit so they don't light up they are just coated with white color just like any other Asus smartphone. 5-megapixel front camera accompanied with a usual set of sensors and in-call speaker and Asus branding.  On Top is the power on/off button with 3.5MM audio jack. We the MicroUSB port on the button with the primary microphone. 


While the back is what makes the device so special, the crystal cut type design makes the device look even more premium than it already is which is made out of polygonal material and feels good while holding. There is a 13-megapixel primary camera with Dual Tone LED flash, Laser autofocus and volume rockers. 

On opening the back we have slots for SIM cards and micro-SD card but the 3,000mAh battery isn't removable. The device is powered by Intel Atom Z3580 Soc clocked at 2.3GHz Quad-Core processor with 4GB Ram and 64GB internal storage out of which 54GB will be available for users. A 3,000mAh battery runs the show behind. 

Priced at Rs. 22,999 for the 64GB variant and the 128GB variant costs Rs. 29,999. It will go on sale exclusively from Flipkart and from offline retail stores across India starting from this month.

The device comes with 5.5-inches FHD(1980*1080p) Display.Internally the Redmi note 2 4G is powered by MediaTek Helio X10 clocked at 2.2GHz Octa-Core 64-bit, A53 processor with with PowerVR G6200 GPU coupled with 2GB LPDDR3 Ram and 16GB internal storage with an SD card slot for memory expansion. 

On the camera side, there is a 13-megapixel primary camera with ultra-fast 0.1s PDAF autofocus and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfie lovers. Runs on Android 5.0 with all the new Miui 7 on top of it. Connectivity features include Dual SIM, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, Infrared remote to control few electronic devices and a 3,060mAh removable battery powers that also has Quick charging 2.0. Xiaomi's Redmi Note 2 Leaks Yet Again with Confirmed Specs and Hands-on Treatment

Just the other day we have posted an article that showed the Xiaomi's next blockbuster device, The redmi note 2 smartphone along with box package and specs. Just a day before the official launch the device pop's up yet again with specifications and hands-on treatment. So are the specs different from what we have seen on the previous leaks? well no there are the same but there's a twist. The device comes with 5.5-inches FHD(1080*1980) IPS display and is powered by MediaTek's fastest Helio X10 chipset clocked in at 2.2GHz Octa-Core processor. There's 2GB of Ram and 16GB internal storage and an SD card slot for memory expansion which is kind of obvious. Android 5.0.2 is installed by default with MiUi 7 overlayed and yes before we forget Xiaomi is also launching the Miui 7 tomorrow globally i.e 13th August.
                   

The camera department houses a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. A 3,100mAh battery powers the device. The Note 2 measures 8.05 mm thin, and is slated to weigh 159 grams. Yeah coming to the twist part, there is another variant that might feature 3GB of Ram and probably will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 which we have learnt from the previous leak. Price os the device is expected to start from $156 for the base variant but then again then again the actual cost might vary when it's official.

    Airtel Announces Free 3G to 4G SIM Upgrade Campaign

    Airtel is the first among the mobile networks to provide 4G in India, the company has started rolling out 4G trails in various cities and town in the country. Airtel own a huge number of customer base compared to other networks in India as of today. But most of the users are so far still in 3G few other are still processing 2G networks. So Airtel has come out and announced free 3G to 4G upgrade for all existing Airtel customers. Airtel trails are now going on in Delhi, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Warangal and many other metro cities in the country. 


     So all this is well and good but how to grab the free upgrade officially, well we are here to cover you on the same,
    Just head over to twitter and follow @AirtelIndia official page in twitter and make sure you follow the official page as there might be some fake accounts under the same name. 
    once you are done following just tweet on twitter with the hashtag #GetAirtel4G tagging Airtel India twitter handle.
    Now just wait for couple of minutes or max 5 minutes for a reply back from Airtel asking you to fill out a simple form which contains details like you Airtel phone number, name, and finally your address.
    Once you are done filling the form you will see a message saying "we will let you know once we process your request" your part of the job is finally done so just sit back and wait for your sim. 
    Depending upon your location and city an executive from Airtel India calls you requesting your exact address and location so just confirm the same and then he will be right at your door step the next day or couple of days later handing over a new 4G sim card.
    To activate the sim, all you need to do is just open your messaging app from your 4G enabled smartphone and type 18 digit code which you will be able to see a the back of your new 4G sim and send an SMS to 121.
    After 15-20 minutes your 3G will be deactivated and the new 4G will be activated with no cost charged from you. 
    Do note your smartphone must be 4G enabled to use this offer from Airtel and also your location will have the 4G enabled bandwidths.

    Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Image Leaked Along with Box pack and Price

    Xiaomi is expected to announce the redmi note 2 smartphone on August 16th along with Miui7 though there is no official word from Xiaomi the leaks surrounding the smartphone makes us believe that the company might actually launch the device on the day. A new leaked image gives us the glimpse of the smartphone and the box package along with the pricing. The image has been leaked by @KJuma earlier today. The device has already been certified by TEENA organization and the new leak reports that the device is expected to come in two different variants, one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615Soc while the another one will be powered by MediaTek MT6795Soc.


    Apart from the chipset rest of the specifications remain the same, Sports 5.5-inches FHD(1980*1080) display which might have screen protector glass.
