Sony has launched the Xperia Z5 series smartphones during IFA 2015 and has been in the news for some time thanks to the world's first 4K display tag. Now Vodafone UK has officially announced that the JAMES BOND SPECTRE edition that was teased by the company some time ago will be available to order from September 16th, 2015.

The wait is now finally over, Sony has officially unveiled the Z5 smartphone with many interesting and impressive features on board. Sony Xperia Z5 Video Surfaces Online Before the Official Launch; Three Variants Incoming?

Sony is expected to launch the all new Xperia flagship called the Xperia Z5. Apparently Sony has planned a surprise for its smartphone lover by launching the flagship device is three different models, Xperia Z5, Z5 compact, and the Xperia Z5 premium. Sony To Launch A New Smartphone During IFA Next Week

Sony is gearing up to launch a new smartphone during IFA 2015 which is going to start next week. Though we are not sure on what the company might launch but we are expecting the Xperia Z5 and Z5 compact smartphones to go official. Sony's UK official twitter account teased an image that says "Get ready for a smartphone with greater focus. All will become clear on 02.09.2015". Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact live image Leaks Online; Features A Fingerprint Sensor

Just a week ago we posted that the Z5 smartphone is expected to go official pretty soon, just as we expected the live images of the smartphone leaks online. The image has been posted online by @viziLeaks and claims the smartphones to be Xperia Z5 and Z5 compact. The smartphone to the extreme left is the Z5 compact with smaller display size and to the extreme right is the Xperia Z5 and one in the middle is the iPhone 6. According to the leak the device is expected to feature fingerprint sensor on the power button located on the left side of the device.

It is been said that the device will continue to have glass finish towards the back just like other high-end Xperia smartphones. Due to huge power button the volume rockers are now pushed down a little. on the bottom there is MicroUSB port and 3.5MM audio jack. Though this is not the first time they have surfaced online but this time around they are been captured in their full form. The Xperia C5, near bezel-less display with just 0.8MM thick bezels on left and right, Sports 6-iinches FHD 1080p display. Powered by MediaTek  MT6752 Soc clocked at 1.7GHz Octa-Core processor with 2GB of Ram and 16GB internal storage with an SD card slot for memory expansion. Runs on Android 5.0 lollipop out of the box and a battery of 2,930mAh capacity. The price of the device is expected to be around $350.

Another smartphone that is leaked along with C5 is the Xperia M5 smartphone. Sony Xperia Z5 in Work; Might Make an Appearance in the New Bond Film "Spectre"

It is known fact that Sony is the official partner of Bond series films since Casino Royle. A couple of weeks before we posted an article regarding the Xperia Z5 smartphone that might be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810Soc, which is supposed to be the upcoming flagship smartphone for the year 2015. Sony has released a poster today that says " Made for Bond" along with a blurred alphabet and five next to it(can see in the below image). Now we are not sure whether the company launches the smartphone before the Movie releases, or the smartphone will make an appearance in the film. 

But at the end of the day Sony is working on flagship smartphone, i mean it wouldn't make sense to introduce a budget smartphone in a reputed tech spy thriller. The movie is all set to release in November 2015, so we need to wait for some more time before coming to any conclusions.  Sony has already launched the Xperia Z4 which is only meant for Japan market and Z3+ for international markets. Sony E5706 Smartphone with Snapdragon 808 Leaks; Might Go Official Next Month

On one hand, Sony is prepping a bezel-less display that is codenamed as Lavender and a report claims that the device might be named as C5 ultra or T4 ultra and is expected to be launched later next month. With all the discussion still ongoing, Sony is silently coming up with yet another bezel-less device code named as E5706, which is also slated for August release. Which could also mean that Company might come with Lavender and E5706 at the same time. 

Moving along, the device sports 5.7-inches FHD(1980*1080) that may have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 808 at an unknown clock speed and processor. There is 3GB of Ram and probably 16GB internal storage with an SD card slot, On the camera side, there is 16-megapixel autofocus primary camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera. The device will run on Android 5.1 out of the box.

Sony Might Launch Xperia Z5 in September; Powered by Snapdragon 820

Since the Z3+ is a minor upgrade from last year's Z3, Sony might be working on next flagship smartphone aka Xperia Z5. According the new sources, the device is said to be launched in September with many major improvements. The device is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Soc with an Octa-Core processor and 4GB Ram. Camera module might feature a 21MP Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor, with 4K video recording support. The device is said to pack a massive 4,500mAh battery, but we are not sure whether Sony might include a huge battery as the company has been slashing the battery capacity since Z2 that has 3,200mAh, Z3 has 3,100mAh and finally a 2,930mAh. It would be nice if Sony managed to pull off the huge battery thread. The device will feature a fingerprint sensor however the placement of the sensor is yet to be known.

Alongside with Z5, the company is also aiming to launch Z5 compact and Z5 ultra. The main difference between these three models is the display size and resolution. The Z5 compact is said to have a 1080p screen while the Z5 will sport a 2K display. IFA show takes place every year during September, however, Z5 will not be launched during the IFA Event in berlin but will be launched in Japan similar to Z3+ and Z4. unlike Z4 which is meant for Japan markets Z5 will be International.  This is all we have at the moment but the rumors still start flowing as we get close to launch. Sony Might Soon Start Smartphones Manufacturing in India

Catching up with the competition, now Sony is in plans to manufacture smartphones in India to follow "Come Make in India" trend. This program is being adopted by many other mobile manufacturing companies in India, Foxconn almost finalized plan to enter Andhra Pradesh. Though Sony hasn't mentioned any specific details about the plant in India but gave us a hint that something might happen in the coming two years. Details like the time frame and investment are also not disclosed. Today's report mentioned that Sony has stopped manufacturing facility in 2004 and now importing smartphones from China, Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan. The company is now looking to grow their market share by 20% this year.

Sony India has turnover of Rs 10,000 crore in 2014-15 and around 75% of its revenue came from Bravia range of TVs and Xperia smartphones, stated the report. Sony India is the fourth highest contributor in the global sales for Sony Corporation. There was a report back in January that said Sony was looking to sell their smartphone division but later there was no news regarding the same. Companies that are in line to start manufacturing plant in India are ess, earlier in January this year. Since past couple of months a range of smartphone makers including Celkon, Microsoft, LG, Asus, Xiaomi, Micromax, Karbonn.

The new set of leaked benchmark scores lists the specifications of an upcoming Sony smartphone and features slightly better specifications than last year's Z3 compact. The smartphone bears a model number E5663 and the smartphone sports 4.6-inches 1080p FHD display that may have Corning Gorilla Glass three protection. Powered by MediaTek Soc clocked at 1.9GHz Octa-Core processor with 3GB of Ram and 16GB internal memory with an SD card slot. On the camera side, there is 20.7-megapixel autofocus primary camera with LED flash and a 12-megapixel front camera. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Zuaba database reveals us that two units have been imported to India and price listed Rs.11,772.

                

However, the device model number matches with Sony Xperia C4 Dual and M4 Dual this lead us to believe that the device may be Indian specific. The specifications of the device are quite impressive on paper atleast, for now we do not have any other information whether or not this device will be an Indian only smartphone or will it be launched internationally. Android M Developers Preview Available For Selected Xperia Smartphones

Sony Introduces Xperia Z4V As A Verizon Exclusive Smartphone

Sony has launched the Xperia Z4V smartphone that will be exclusively available via Verizon mobile carrier. The Z4 smartphone was earlier launched in Japan and later came to international markets as Xperia Z3+ though Sony said that it is not a true flagship smartphone but an upgraded version of the Z3. The naming of the smartphones might confuse the users same goes with the specifications as well. The Xperia Z4v smartphone sports similar features but the primary difference lie with the display size and resolution.The Z3+ features a 1440 pixel display while the newly launched Z4v features a 1080p display panel.

Sony To Update Xperia Z Series Smartphones with Android 5.1

Sony has just announced that it will be rolling out the Android 5.1 major update over the lollipop to Xperia Z series smartphones including the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The Xperia M2, M2 dual that were launched during august 2014 are running on android 4.4.4 KitKat at present, these smartphone will get the 5.1 update directly skipping the 5.0 update and T2 ultra, C3 smartphones will follow. 

The update is scheduled to roll out starting from July, 2015.
